Memorial for Glass-Steagall
Introduced in New York

May 31, 2013 (EIRNS)—New York State, home state of Alexander Hamilton, became the 21st state to have a Memorial urging Congress to support the restoration of the Glass-Steagall Act and H.R. 129, put before it on May 29. K490 was introduced by Assemblyman Phil Steck, a Democrat of Schenectady, along with 19 cosponsors, three of whom are Republicans. The Memorial has been referred to the Committee on Banks.

New York State, as the current home of Wall Street, is a key battleground in the Glass-Steagall fight, and citizens have been waging an intensive fight to get the resolution introduced for weeks now. See www.larouchepac.com for an overview on the Glass-Steagall battle.
