When Leaders Stand Up for the Truth

July 1, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—The rising voice of the Global South was heard loud and clear at the so-called “Global Financing Pact” conference in Paris, planned by Western elites to bring on a new worldwide tax “for the climate.”

Provide the means of water management and electric power for 600 million people in Africa; let us have credit for new infrastructure projects like China’s Belt and Road, let Argentina industrialize ... and then talk to us about the climate, said South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa, Brazil’s Inácio Lula da Silva, and leaders of other nations waiting to join the BRICS. We must work so that at the BRICS summit in August in South Africa, a giant step is taken to turn the New Development Bank into the International Development Bank designed by Lyndon LaRouche, so that every nation has available the credit for development—the name of peace.

The leaders of the NATO nations in these decades think only of imposing “strategic defeat” on Russia, and imposing Malthusian deindustrialization on the world as a whole, which was the aim bound up from the start with this war on Russia and China. They have no response to the developing nations but the demand, already rejected, to “get on our side” and help destroy Russia and China. And in Europe, they have no answer for their own populations who are in “cost-of-living crisis” and see the trillions for NATO wars, less and less for industry, farmers, households, healthcare, shelter.

What really counts now, is that thousands and soon millions of active people within those populations see the monster that is all but on them, the world war of nuclear powers that will arise from continued “Ukraine” conflict and destroy human civilization. To stop that monster is the mission—already being carried out—of the expanding International Peace Coalition initiated by Helga Zepp-LaRouche. The Coalition has in its sights Aug. 6, the day of commemoration of Hiroshima’s victims, and actions leading up to that turning point.

For Americans, the June 10, 1963 “Peace Speech” of President John F. Kennedy is the touchstone to wake up, look at themselves, and turn back to the road to peace with Russia which Kennedy won them to 60 years ago. The LaRouche Organization newsletter today said: “How do we get Americans to dream now, 60 years later? We must take back our government. We must stand up for principle, and against partisanship. We must do what was done when the country was founded. We need to return to the commitment of the Declaration of Independence.

“ ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident—that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these rights are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness; that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their powers from the just consent of the governed, that whenever any government becomes destructive of those ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation upon such principles and organizing its Powers in such form as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
