Fascist Kiev Regime Aligning with NATO

Nov. 17, 2014 (EIRNS)—An Interfax-Ukraine wire dated Nov. 15 reports that the coalition agreement being drafted by the two largest blocs in the Ukrainian parliament, that led by President Petro Poroshenko and that led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, explicitly puts the country on a path to aligning with the West and towards NATO membership. The draft agreement says that, among other things, "the Military Doctrine should contain the term ’potential enemy’ and clearly determine criteria for recognizing a certain state or a group of states as a potential enemy." In addition, the draft coalition agreement suggests amending the laws on the foundations of domestic and foreign policy and on the foundations of national security, including

"the annulment of Ukraine’s non-aligned status, the resumption of a political course toward integration into the Euro-Atlantic security space and membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and also the restoration of Ukraine’s national sovereignty over the territory of Crimea as one of the strategic goals."
